Overton United FC’s owners have confirmed they will not be selling the club to pop star Taylor Swift.
Posts on social media channels suggested, the Hampshire Premier League Division One club responded to a newspaper report that said Swift wanted to buy ‘The Ove’.
The owners of the village’s league club issued the statement yesterday.
Gary Savory told Overton Radio, “Talks fell through once the board realised she was only in it for a relationship with Dave ‘Disco’ Graham. It was in the best interests of the club to cease talks with Miss Swift”.
It follows speculation that the American singer was also interested in buying Notts County. Overton FC face rivals TwentyTen at Bridge Street today with a 3:00pm kick-off.
