The team behind the Overton Scarecrow Festival is inviting residents from the village to get involved in a series of friendly scarecrow-making workshops, helping to create colourful displays that will appear across the village.
The sessions run every Tuesday from 10am to 12 noon at the ORC Pavilion, Bridge Street, and are open to anyone who would like to take part. Volunteers are on hand to offer support and guidance, whether you are full of ideas or simply curious to have a go.
Organisers say the workshops are great fun and provide a relaxed, social setting, with refreshments available throughout the morning. There is no need to book in advance – just turn up and enjoy being creative with the group.
The team is also welcoming donations of old clothes, hats, cardboard and old newspapers to help bring the scarecrows to life. Collection can be arranged if needed.
Anyone who would like to donate materials or arrange a collection can contact Steve on 07966 921584.
