Restoration Work Underway at St Mary’s Church

Observant visitors to St Mary’s Church may have noticed that several of the church windows are currently boarded up. This is due to ongoing restoration work, with the windows having been carefully removed for repair and refurbishment.

The project forms part of the continuing effort to preserve and maintain this important historic building. Once completed, the restored windows will not only enhance the appearance of the church but also help ensure its long-term structural and aesthetic integrity.

It is hoped that the windows will be returned and reinstalled in time for the Advent season, when St Mary’s will once again be illuminated in all its splendour.

The restoration serves as a reminder of both the privilege and the challenge of caring for a heritage building – a task that requires dedication, attention to detail, and a deep respect for the past.
