Residents living on the Sovereign Gate estate are being urged to remain vigilant after a man was reportedly seen attempting to gain access to vehicles parked in a residential car park during the early hours of Thursday morning.
The incident is believed to have happened at around 12.30am, with a resident subsequently reviewing CCTV footage and discovering that a man had managed to get inside their van.
Fortunately, the individual appears to have been disturbed or put off by something before anything could be taken. The resident confirmed that nothing was missing from the vehicle.
The man was reportedly accompanied by a car, although it is not yet clear whether he was driving the vehicle or whether someone else was with him.
Residents across the estate are now working together to review any available CCTV footage in the hope of identifying the vehicle and establishing more details about those involved.
Following the incident, residents are being reminded to make sure their vehicles are securely locked, avoid leaving valuables inside and report any suspicious activity.
Residents are being encouraged to stay alert and take extra precautions.
