A police helicopter was heard circling Overton for almost two hours in the early hours of this morning, as officers carry out a major search operation centred on the Flashetts area.
Overton Radio understands there is a significant police presence on the ground, with multiple units involved. One resident told us there are “loads of police everywhere” and that people in the area are being spoken to by officers.
Hampshire Police have confirmed to Overton Radio that the helicopter was flying was in relation to a search for a missing person, who has since been located.
I live in Fox Down we where woken at 5 am , the helicopter was right above our house we could see the lights searching across the valley and Police cars on the ground.
The noise was quite horrendous/ scary I have to say at first Il thought it was going to land in the village. I hope it’s not because someone was in danger.
