Residents are being invited to have their say on the future of the former Overton Paper Mill site, as an outline planning application for a major housing development has now been submitted.
The proposal, lodged with Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council, seeks permission for the construction of up to 400 homes on the site. The application is currently available to view on the council’s planning portal under reference 26/00578/OUT.
As an outline application, the submission focuses on the principle of development, with more detailed plans expected to follow at a later stage if approved.
Locals are encouraged to review the plans and submit their comments before the consultation deadline on April 30th. Feedback will play a key role in helping the council assess the proposal and its potential impact on the village.
The redevelopment of the paper mill site has long been a topic of discussion within the community, with many keen to see how the land could be used in the years ahead.
