Pet First Aid Course Coming to Overton

The veterinary nurse-led course, organised by Buddiepet and T & T Pet Field & Cafe, will be held at St Mary's Hall on Sunday 27 September 2026, running from 10am until 1.30pm.

The three-and-a-half-hour session is designed for both pet owners and professionals, with attendees learning how to respond to a range of common injuries and emergencies involving dogs and cats.

Topics will include basic first aid, wound care and bandaging, fractures and spinal injuries, as well as how to deal with choking, seizures, heatstroke and hypothermia.

The course will also provide practical guidance on pet CPR. Participants will have the opportunity to practise CPR techniques using Casper, a CPR training dummy, helping build confidence in responding to a cardiac emergency.

There will also be advice on recognising the signs of poisoning and understanding how to respond if a pet comes into contact with potentially dangerous substances. The course will cover preventative care too, with tips on reducing the risk of injuries and keeping pets healthy and safe.

Attendees will receive hands-on experience using first aid equipment and learning different bandaging techniques. The course is fully CPD accredited and certified, with participants receiving a certificate on completion.

Refreshments will be available throughout the session, and attendees will also receive access to ITG Pet first aid refresher emails and newsletters containing further information and safety tips.

Places are limited, with organisers encouraging anyone interested to book in advance.

The course takes place at St Mary's Hall, High Street, Basingstoke, on Sunday 27 September from 10am to 1.30pm.
