Paws for applause! Red Lion to host Easter Monday dog show with special guest judge

The tails will be wagging and the fur flying this Easter Monday at The Red Lion, as the much-loved pub plays host to the village’s most adorable showdown — the Easter Monday Dog Show!

Kicking off at 3pm, this paws-itively fabulous event invites all local pooches – from scrappy rescues to polished pedigrees – to show off their best tricks, treats and twirls in front of a very special judge: Elle Hack, former Overton Radio presenter and bona fide dog expert.

Elle will be putting her keen eye and encyclopedic dog knowledge to the test as she sniffs out winners across a range of fun and fur-filled categories.

And hosting the event with charm, cheek, and a microphone in hand will be none other than Overton Radio’s Rob Francis — bringing his signature style, quick wit and possibly a few dog biscuits in his pocket. (Just don’t ask who they’re for.)

There’ll be rosettes, prizes, doggy treats, and plenty of laughs, whether your pup is a show ring regular or just excels at looking cute while stealing sausages.

Spectators are welcome to come along free of charge and soak up the chaos — sorry, charm — of a classic village dog show done Red Lion-style.
