Parking Disruption on Winchester Street – Monday Resurfacing Works

Residents and visitors to Overton should be aware that the parking bays outside the Co-op on Winchester Street will be temporarily closed on Monday due to resurfacing works.

The closure is necessary to carry out essential maintenance on the parking area, which has been scheduled to improve the quality of the surface for vehicles and pedestrians. Over time, wear and tear has caused the need for a refreshed and safer surface, and this work is being undertaken to ensure long-term benefits for all users.

If you have a vehicle parked in the affected area, you will be required to move your car as you will receive a penalty charge notice if it’s left there whilst the works are taking place.

The works are expected to last one day, with the parking bays anticipated to reopen by 5pm, depending on weather conditions. The parking bays on the opposite side of the road are unaffected by the closure, so they will still be available. While the bays are closed, shoppers and visitors to the area are advised to use nearby parking facilities, including the car parks on London Road and Overton Hill.
