Overton United Reserves record emphatic 7–2 victory over Wey Valley

Overton United Reserves delivered a commanding performance on Saturday as they defeated Wey Valley 7–2 in a one-sided league fixture.

The hosts took control early in the match through Grant Powell, whose composed finish set the tone for the afternoon. From that point, Overton pressed with authority and maintained pressure throughout. Ash Elward proved decisive in the final third, completing a well-taken hattrick. Matt Dean matched the feat with three goals of his own, each marked by clear movement and confident finishing.

Wey Valley responded with two goals, but neither strike altered the flow of the contest. Overton managed the game with discipline, keeping structure in midfield and limiting further chances for the visitors. The result reflected both efficiency in attack and organisation across the pitch.

The victory secures an important three points for the reserves and strengthens their position ahead of their next fixture. Attention now turns to the upcoming cup match, where Overton United Reserves will travel to face Woking Vets A. The squad will aim to carry their strong form into knockout competition.
