Overton United Prepare for First Home Clash of the Season

Overton United will step out at Bridge Street tomorrow afternoon for their first home fixture of the season, taking on Nursling and Shirley in the League Cup. Kick-off is at 3pm.

Both sides arrive unbeaten in their respective league campaigns, setting up what promises to be a fiercely competitive encounter. Overton carry the sharper attacking edge, having netted a remarkable 19 goals in their opening three matches. Their front line has looked unstoppable so far, delivering goals from all areas of the pitch.

Nursling and Shirley, however, bring their own formidable record — one built on defensive resilience. They are yet to concede a goal this season, making them a tough nut to crack for even the most potent strike force.

With Overton’s firepower set against Nursling and Shirley’s watertight defence, Bridge Street could be the stage for a classic early-season test of attack versus defence. The winners will take a big step forward in the cup, but both sides will be desperate to preserve their unbeaten records.

Supporters are expected to turn out in strong numbers to back Overton in their home debut, and with plenty of goals already scored this season, the village side will be eager to put on a show.
