There’s another big weekend of local football ahead as Overton United welcome Silchester Village to Bridge Street on Saturday in the Hampshire Premier League Division One. Kick-off is at 3pm.
United go into the match unbeaten in the league this season and currently sit three points clear at the top of the table. A win this weekend would tighten their grip on first place and continue what’s been an impressive campaign so far.
Their opponents, Silchester Village, aren’t far behind — they’re third in the league, five points adrift of Overton, and will no doubt be keen to close that gap. With both sides in strong form, it promises to be a cracking encounter.
There’s no fixture for Overton United Reserves this weekend, who have the week off.
Meanwhile, on Sunday morning, it’s the turn of the Overton United Veterans, who are also in action at Bridge Street. They’ll face Knaphill Veterans in the Mike Parker Trophy, with kick-off set for 10.30am.
It’s shaping up to be a busy weekend of football for the club — and a great chance for local fans to show their support down at Bridge Street.
