Overton United continued their flawless league form with a commanding 4–1 victory over Silchester Village at Bridge Street on Saturday, extending their 100% record for the season.
It was Macauley Martin who set the tone early on, firing United into the lead after just 14 minutes. The visitors levelled things up ten minutes later from the penalty spot, but Overton quickly regained control of the match.
Two penalties in quick succession turned the tide decisively in United’s favour — both coolly dispatched by Adam Hargood, the first on 35 minutes and the second just before half time.
As the game entered its closing stages, Woody Tydeman sealed the win with a confident strike on 81 minutes to make it 4–1 and keep Overton’s unbeaten run intact.
The result means United remain top of the table and yet to drop a single point this season. They’re back at Bridge Street next weekend, hosting Twentyten in what will be the final 3pm kick-off of the year — with matches moving to a 2pm start time from November 1st.
