Overton United Hit Five Past Rushmoor in Ruthless Away Display

Overton United swept aside Rushmoor Community with a clear 5-0 win today, showing sharp movement, neat link-up play, and a cutting edge that never dipped. The result extends their winning run to nine league matches and keeps them top of Hampshire Premier League Division One.

The first goal came after 35 minutes. Woody Tydeman broke down the left, cut inside, and forced a save. The rebound fell to Hargood, who tapped into an open net.

Five minutes into the second half, Overton doubled the lead. A loose moment at the back from Rushmoor left Macca Martin with what felt like all the time in the world. He picked his spot and scored with ease.

On 60 minutes, Hargood sent a simple ball over the top for Martin. He stepped past his marker as if he were mist and drove the ball home for 3–0.

Four minutes later, the same pair linked again. Dan Schofield clipped a neat pass to Hargood, who slid it across for Martin to sweep in and complete a rapid 14-minute hat-trick. Three goals, three hats, and very little Rushmoor could do about any of it.

The fifth and final goal arrived on 79 minutes. Overton worked the ball through almost every outfield player before Schofield finished the move from close range. It was the sort of goal that makes a coach grin and an opponent sigh.

With momentum behind them and a table-topping run intact, Overton look harder to stop each week.
