The Overton Mummers will take to the streets again on 26 December, keeping a village tradition alive with their ancient folk play. The group will appear in costume, wrapped in strips of wallpaper that help create their strange and playful look.
The performance starts at 12.30pm at the Community Centre forecourt. The Mummers then move on to the Old House at Home at 1pm, before making their final stop at the Greyhound at 2pm. A community sing-along in the pub rounds off the event.
The Mummers will collect donations during the day. All money raised goes to St Michael’s Hospice. This small slice of midwinter theatre brings people together each year, and this year’s walkabout show aims to do the same again.
