Overton Cricket Club is inviting the local community to enjoy an afternoon of cricket, food and fun as its annual Ladies Softball Cricket Festival returns on Sunday, 5 July.
The festival will take place at the Overton Recreation Centre in Bridge Street, getting underway at 1pm. The event offers a chance for spectators to discover why women’s cricket has become one of the fastest-growing sports in the country while cheering on the home team.
Visitors can enjoy a fully stocked bar throughout the afternoon, with a barbecue starting from 5pm, making it an ideal day out for families, friends and cricket fans alike. Overton Radio will also be there playing music throughout the afternoon to keep the festival spirit alive!
The festival also provides an opportunity for anyone interested in taking up the sport to find out more about Overton Cricket Club’s thriving ladies’ section. The team trains every Tuesday evening from 6.30pm to 8pm, with both hardball and softball matches taking place at weekends. Players of all ages, experience levels and abilities are welcome.
More information about joining the club and its ladies’ team can be found at Overton Cricket Club’s website.
