A man has been arrested after police discovered suspected Class A drugs during a fail-to-stop incident in Oakley late last night.
Officers on patrol spotted a blue Volvo believed to be linked to drug supply at around 11.50pm on Thursday, November 6. When they tried to stop the vehicle, the driver sped off and turned onto Station Road, where the car collided with a garden wall.
The driver attempted to flee on foot but was caught after a short chase. Officers then found suspected Class A drugs and drug paraphernalia at the scene. The items, along with the vehicle, have been seized.
A 23-year-old man from Basingstoke was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, failing to stop, being concerned in the supply of a Class A drug, possession of a Class A drug, acquiring or using criminal property, and driving without insurance.
He remains in custody as enquiries continue.
