The Hampshire Air Festival 2026, which was due to take place at Thruxton Aerodrome this weekend, has been cancelled after the company behind the event announced it is taking steps to enter liquidation.
Montserrat Events & Festivals Limited confirmed the cancellation of the two-day festival, which had been scheduled for Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 September.
In a statement, the company’s directors said they had taken the decision with “profound sadness”.
The cancellation comes just days before thousands of visitors were expected to head to Thruxton for a weekend celebrating aviation.
As a consequence of the cancellation, Montserrat Events & Festivals Limited said steps are now being taken to place the business into liquidation. The directors are also seeking independent legal and insolvency advice.
Anyone who has already purchased tickets is being advised to contact their debit or credit card provider directly to discuss what options may be available to recover their payment.
The company said suppliers and other stakeholders would also be contacted with further information about the process, including details of any relevant claims or enquiries.
The Hampshire Air Festival had been due to bring a packed programme of aviation activity to Thruxton Aerodrome on Saturday and Sunday, but the event will now not go ahead.
Montserrat Events & Festivals Limited concluded its statement by thanking those who had supported the festival.
The company said: “We are grateful to everyone who has supported the event.”
