Residents are being invited to explore the history of one of Overton’s important local landmarks at a special heritage event taking place next month.
The Portals Heritage & Memories Project, titled Overton Mill: 1922–2022, will take place at Overton Community Centre on Saturday 14th November 2026, offering visitors the chance to learn more about the mill’s history and its place in the village’s heritage.
The event will begin at 10am with an exhibition, followed by a talk at 10.30am entitled A Business History, exploring the story of Overton Mill and its legacy.
Organised by Heritage Overton, the event aims to bring local history to life, giving people the opportunity to discover more about the mill, share their own memories and celebrate its importance to the community.
Admission is free for Heritage Overton members, while non-members are welcome to attend for £5, which includes light refreshments. Payment must be made in cash.
Everyone is welcome to attend, whether they have a longstanding connection to the mill or simply want to learn more about Overton’s past.
