Beasts, Beats and Bakes at Beech Tree: Overton Gears Up for Summer Fête Fun

It’s shaping up to be the wildest afternoon of the summer – quite literally – as the Beech Tree Summer Fête bursts into life on Saturday 19th July from 2pm to 4pm, and it’s absolutely free to enter.

Forget your usual garden party. This one’s bringing the jungle to Sprents Lane with a live reptile showcase between 2pm and 3.30pm. Expect snakes, lizards, insects, and all things slithery and scaly – a rare chance to get up close and personal with some of nature’s most fascinating creatures. Brave enough for a selfie with a python? This might just be your moment.

Adding to the buzz, the soundtrack of the afternoon will be provided by Overton Radio, alongside a live vocal performance by Steve Conway from 2.30pm to 3.30pm. Expect classic tunes, smooth vocals and a laid-back summer vibe.

On the foodie front, come hungry. The BBQ will be sizzling, Siyani’s Caribbean Curry will bring the heat, and if you’re more of a tea-and-scones sort, there’ll be cakes, bakes, strawberries and cream – with a refreshing glass of Pimm’s for good measure.

There’s plenty for the kids (and the young-at-heart) too – from balloon modelling by Harry, a lucky dip, and games galore including Hook-a-Duck and the ever-popular Wine & Water game. The raffle and tombola promise some great prizes, and Kitty’s Crafts will be on hand for those after a handmade keepsake.

Cash payments are welcome throughout, so bring some coins and small notes, and prepare to enjoy an afternoon of community, fun, and a little bit of wild adventure.

Whether you’re in it for the reptiles, the rhythm, or the raspberry tarts, the Beech Tree Summer Fête is Overton’s must-attend event this July. Let’s hope the sun shines – but even if it doesn’t, this fête is guaranteed to bring the summer spirit.
