The fundraising event is free to attend and features 11 local traders, 7 live music acts, 6 classic cars and a multitude of fun ways to help raise money for the village’s community radio station and the great work of Test Valley Men’s Shed, while having the chance to win a trip to Madrid or a family ticket to the Hampshire Air Festival.
Carpark-Fest starts at midday and goes on into the evening and will see a variety of musical acts, interspersed with games and quizzes hosted by the Overton Radio volunteer team:

In the pub’s carpark there will be a range of local traders including Gaynor Francis from The Village Refillery, Jasmine Jowett with 3D toys and models, Sarah Ross with handmade jewellery from Vita Nova and a range of clothing and decoupage items.
Vilnis will be selling his range of craft spirits from VB Distillery in Basingstoke and we’re honoured to have Michelle Green from The Haven who will create a free sensory space for younger visitors and families who might need a quieter place during the event.
Adrian and the members of Overton Classic Car Club have been kind enough to arrange a range of classic vehicles from a Morris Minor Traveller to an original Paul Smith Mini.
The Red Lion continues to serve food until 3pm, but then there's a range of authentic German sausages (Bratwurst, Käsekrainer and more) thanks to Jeffrey's Lunchbox.
With beer brand Madrí giving (over 18!) drinkers chances to win free pints or even a trip to Madrid, there’s also a chance to win a family ticket worth £140 to the Hampshire Air Festival at Thruxton Aerodrome next month.
Overton Radio host Chris Cloke - previous winner of Channel 4’s ‘Come Dine With Me’ - will also be hosting a ‘Chilli Challenge’, featuring chicken wings, fresh chillies and a range of chilli sauces in ascending heat, up to 2,000,000 on the Scoville scale. Sonny Jim’s ice cream van will also be on site to cool that hot palate.
Games and quizzes include a bumper edition of The Red Lion’s popular meat raffle ‘Meats & Beats’, a mish-mash of £200+ of top-quality meat products from Oakley Butchers to be won, entwined with a music quiz. A game of bingo will give people the chance to win prizes for a line, two lines and a full house and a Picture Quiz give more opportunities to win prizes throughout the afternoon.
As well as ‘Play Your Cards Right’, and ‘Deal or No Deal’, the event also sees the return of the hugely entertaining and interactive Human Fruit Machine, where customers are encased in a box and blindly grab fruit in order for players to win the jackpot prize.
The event is to raise money for the village’s community radio station and to help with the work of Test Valley Men’s Shed, a local charity that helps reduce loneliness and build a sense of purpose by building or repairing items like bird boxes, garden furniture and children’s toys.
