Accident at the bottom of Dellands Lane Causes Disruption to Local Traffic

UPDATE: 4.45PM: Overton Radio’s Paul Robinson has confirmed that the B3400 has now reopened.

A road traffic incident at the bottom of Dellands Lane has caused significant disruption to local traffic this afternoon, with emergency services and recovery teams on-site to clear the scene.

The accident has prompted Stagecoach to divert buses along the A303, with the 4:50 PM service from Andover to Basingstoke being cancelled. Motorists are advised to avoid the area if possible, as traffic congestion continues to affect surrounding roads.

Amy Nield, a local resident, reported passing through Silk Mill Lane, where traffic was in chaos due to the incident. However, she noted that recovery teams were already working to clear the vehicle involved, and the police suggested that the road would soon be reopened.

“The recovery team was on site and clearing the car, so the police said people should be able to come through very shortly,” Nield said.

As of now, authorities have not confirmed the extent of the injuries or the cause of the accident, but they continue to advise caution in the area.
