Overton United are back to winning ways after an impressive 4-0 victory over Broughton at Bridge Street.
United got themselves in front after 21 minutes, with Cole Oates opening the scoring and giving the home side an early platform to build on. Henry Pratt then doubled Overton’s advantage in the 38th minute, putting United firmly in control heading towards half-time.
There was still time for Overton to add a third before the break, with Oates finding the net again in the 45th minute to give United a commanding 3-0 lead at half-time.
The second half saw United continue to control the game, and they put the result beyond doubt seven minutes from full-time. Jared Wetherick added Overton’s fourth in the 83rd minute to complete a convincing afternoon at Bridge Street.
The victory moves Overton United up to eighth place in the Hampshire Premier League, providing a welcome boost after recent results.
United will now look to build on the win when they return to Bridge Street on Saturday, welcoming Blackfield & Langley for a 3pm kick-off.
It promises to be another busy afternoon at Bridge Street as Overton look to continue their climb up the Hampshire Premier League table.
