Sunday Side Triumphs to Reach Junior Cup Final

Overton’s Sunday side has booked their place in the Junior Cup final in style, delivering a resounding 5-0 victory over SB Wanderers at Berrydown. A ruthless attacking display saw goals from Matt Dean, along with two apiece from Samie Aldoori and Louis “Mad Dog” McCann, sealing an emphatic triumph.

The team started strong and never looked back, controlling the game from the outset. Dean’s early strike set the tone before Aldoori and McCann doubled the advantage before the break. The second half saw more of the same as Overton continued to dominate, with Aldoori and McCann each grabbing their second of the game to cap off a perfect performance.

With this win, Overton now look ahead to the final with confidence, eager to bring home the silverware.

It was a tougher outing for Overton’s Veterans side, who fell to a 2-1 defeat away to Hambledon Vets in the Farnham Premier League. Despite a battling performance, they were unable to overturn the deficit, with Gregor Restell scoring Overton’s only goal of the game.

The team fought hard throughout, but Hambledon proved just too strong on the day. Overton will now look to bounce back in their next fixture as they aim to climb the league table.
