A total of 475 runners took part in this year’s Overton 5 Road Race, with competitors heading around the village countryside as the event returned for another successful running.
The race attracted runners of all ages and abilities, with a strong field battling it out for the top spots.
Joshua Price of Vectis Academy Race Team was the first man across the finish line, completing the five-mile course in an impressive 25 minutes and 46 seconds, at a pace of 5:09 per mile.
He was followed by Matthew Port of Winchester RC, who finished just six seconds behind in 25:52.
Third place went to Richard Lovejoy of Aldershot Farnham & District, recording a time of 26:28.
In the women’s race, Emma Stevens of Aldershot Farnham & District was the first woman home, finishing in 30:39. She placed 31st overall.
Emma Jolley of City of Portsmouth AC was second woman in 31:39, while Helen Herman-Bonaer of Totton RC finished third in 31:42.
There was also success for the home club, Overton Harriers.
The first Overton Harriers man home was 19-year-old Edward Vallis, who finished 25th overall and recorded a time of 29:54.
The first Overton Harriers woman was 15-year-old Samara Martin, who crossed the line in 41:40, finishing 256th overall.
With 475 runners taking part, the Overton 5 once again provided a fantastic showcase for local running, bringing together competitive athletes, club runners and participants from across the region.
