Neil Armstrong and Neil Clarke got TMGC off to a winning start, never falling behind before eventually securing a 2&1 victory. They were made to work hard towards the end, but held their nerve on the final hole to seal the win.
Neil Butler and Simon Edwards produced a particularly steady performance, coming through 4&3 to add another point to the TMGC total.
There was also a memorable debut for father and son Jon and Sam Jackson, who secured a dramatic 1-up victory right at the end of the round. Sam, one of TMGC's first junior members to feature in a match, impressed on his competitive debut alongside his dad.
Greg Saunders and Fred Stace were the only TMGC pairing to miss out, going down 3&2 despite putting up a valiant fight.
The performance of the day, however, belonged to Toby Stupples and Paul Tarsey. The pair looked to be heading for defeat when they found themselves three down with just six holes remaining. What followed was a remarkable fightback, as they won five of their final six holes to turn the match around and secure a stunning 2-up victory.
With four wins from five pairings, TMGC once again showed their resilience and ability to fight right through to the final hole. The winning habit shows no sign of disappearing.
