Priory Lane in Freefolk to Close for One Day This Thursday

Drivers and residents in Freefolk are being advised to prepare for a one-day closure at the bottom of Priory Lane on Thursday, 9 October, as essential maintenance and repair work is carried out. The closure is expected to last for the duration of the day, with the road reopening later that evening once the works are complete.

A diversion route will be in place via Watch Lane, and motorists are being urged to follow the official signs to avoid delays or confusion. The closure is being implemented to allow crews to complete the work safely and efficiently.

Despite the closure, local access will be maintained to nearby businesses and attractions. Hardy’s Cottage Garden Plants and The Watership Down pub will both remain open as usual, with customers able to reach them via the diversion route.

Residents in the area are being encouraged to plan ahead, particularly during the morning and evening rush hours, when the diversion route may be busier than usual. The local authority has thanked the community for its patience and understanding while these essential works are carried out.
